When in Spain ...

Regarding life in Spain, people over here are often fined 'on the spot' if they have shopping bags on the seats of their cars. Also it is compulsory to have TWO pairs of distance glasses and TWO bottles of water (in case of dehydration).

Also to carry triangles in case of breakdown  and a reflective jacket for EVERYONE in the car. All car papers including driving licence must be carried at all times.

Do not stop if you are being signalled to do so by bogus people parading often as Police, but drive to the next stopping station.

Genuine Police prefer you to do this rather than being caught with nasty surprises.

(We have also been reliably informed that you can be fined while driving for not wearing a shirt (mostly men) and for wearing shoes with no back e.g. flip flops. And advised if hiring a car do not expect the high viz jackets or triangles to be in it.  Check with the hire company and check the car as these are not automatically provided and you may be stopped and fined if you do not have them in the car. And always carry some id preferably your passport or driving licence with photo. ed.)
