Minister for Pensions should fight for the triple lock
The National Federation of Occupational Pensioners (NFOP) has urged Steve Webb, the Minister for Pensions, to ensure that he continues to support the triple lock in any discussions with the Liberal Democrat Party.
NFOP believes that any change to the triple lock will undo the good work done to ensure pensioner poverty is decreased and will make current pensioners vulnerable under any new government.

Elderly face highest rate of inflation for fifth consecutive month
- The Alliance Trust Economic Research Centre has found that, in May, the oldest age group – the 75 and overs once again faced the highest rate of inflation, at 3.0
- The youngest age groups – the under 30s and 30-49 year olds – saw the sharpest increase over the month
- Consistently high gas and electricity price inflation kept the rate of inflation facing the elderly elevated, while increases in clothing and air fare price inflation pushed the inflation rates of the younger age groups higher

Improved pedestrian safety design will help high risk children on the roads, says IAM
Today's report by AXA puts pedestrian safety under the spotlight, the IAM is asking the UK government and car makers to make pedestrian-friendly car fronts a top priority. The government should be taking the lead in lobbying the European Commission and car manufacturers to make radical changes so that vulnerable road users can get the same five star protection as those sitting in the vehicle.

- Read travel articles in papers, magazines or blogs and work out what really draws you into the writing. Try to find 3 or 4 phrases that create a real ‘pull’ and why that is. It could be the action, the descriptions or the humour.
